Galveston Historical Tour 2025
Join us for a fun-filled day in Galveston! With a rich history and plethora of visit options, this is a must-do trip (self-drive or bus). We will start with a historical harbor tour aboard the Seagull II, seeing various sites of note including the battleship Texas at dock and wreck of the SS Selma, plus the wide variety of birds and marine life that teem in the bay. On return, we will have an opportunity to explore the beautiful 1877 tall ship Ellisa, fully restored to a working vessel by the Galveston Historical Foundation. Then it’s time to recharge with a private buffet lunch event at the renowned Fisherman’s Wharf restaurant with views of the harbor and ships.
After lunch we will have some free time to further explore the Seaport Museum, nearby Railroad Museum or Ocean Star Drilling Rig, or just shopping and site-seeing on The Strand. We will regroup mid afternoon and make our way to the Galveston Naval Museum, where we will have docent-lead tours of the destroyer escort USS Stewart and WWII vintage submarine USS Cavalla. We will plan to head back to H-town after a fun and memory- filled afternoon.
This is a bus trip from Houston, or optionally self drive if you live south of town,
