Bat Boat Tour with the Buffalo Bayou Partnership
SOLD OUT! Please contact the individual below to sign-up for the waitlist.
This event has sold out. Please contact Brenda Schroeder to be placed on the wait list or in case we are able to book a second date.
Once on board the boat you will experience a unique view of both downtown Houston and Waugh Bridge as approximately 250,000 Free-Tailed bats take to the sky. This tour will be led by a knowledgeable guide, and you will learn about these magnificent flying mammals as you view them from the water. You will learn how the bat sleeps, how much food they can consume in one hour and how they contribute to the ecosystem.
The bats depart from Houston to vacation in Mexico around mid-August, hence the date of this event. The boat is partially covered. The tour will be rescheduled in case of inclement weather.
Attendees can bring drinks but only plastic cups are allowed (you can bring a wine bottle).
Spaces are limited so sign up early! Feel free to wear your favorite bat gear!
Note: This event is not kid friendly – all attendees must be 18+
