Texas Independence Day, Washington-on-the-Brazos

Join us in celebrating 190 years of Texas Independence! We will be venturing to Washington-on-the-Brazos State Historic Park, site of the 1836 signing of the Texas Declaration of Independence which declared Texas to be a free republic from Mexico. The celebration is returning to the park after two years of renovations, and will include parades, reenactments, scenes from the 1836 Convention, and amazing new exhibits including the Washington Townsite Experience and Star of the Republic Museum. It will be a fun afternoon exploring the sites as well as shopping at booths from local vendors.
We will meet for an early lunch at a friendly historic restaurant, Grapevine on Main, in the nearby quaint town of Chappell Hill before heading to the celebration. We will choose from a menu of their specialties, and enjoy some social time getting to know each other ahead of the main event.
This is a self-drive trip from Houston, and promises to be a memorable day.
