Water for Elephants
Join us for a night at the Hobby Center on Thursday, January 26th, 2026 to see Water for Elephants to see amazing choreography, acrobatics and stunning puppetry.
Water for Elephants is the story of Jacob Jankowski, a young man orphaned and penniless during the Great Depression, who joins a traveling circus and falls in love with Marlena, a married equestrian star. The plot centers on their forbidden romance, Jacob’s bond with the circus’s untrainable elephant, Rosie, and his conflict with Marlena’s abusive husband, the unstable animal trainer August. The narrative, told through flashbacks from the perspective of an elderly Jacob, explores themes of love, survival, finding community among misfits, and the importance of compassion for living beings.

| Cost: | $102 per person – you must be a current SAAGH member to purchase. Tickets must be purchased in pairs. (No single tickets are available due to seating limitations.) | Dinner/Drinks | The Hobby Center has food services available prior to each performance with seating throughout the Grand Foyer. Further, concessions are located throughout the theater, which are open 90 minutes prior to performances and during intermission. These offer an assortment of candies, snacks and beverages, including wine and cocktails. Note: You can pre-order beverages for intermission at any bar when you arrive and they will be ready for you at intermission. |
