What could be more fun than combining prison and wine?! No, we will not be trying the popular red wine brand Prisoner, but we will be heading north on a trip to the Texas Prison Museum in Huntsville, Texas, combined with a lakeside lunch and visit to a nearby winery (self-drive or bus). We will start with a visit to the prison museum), a fascinating place with exhibits covering tales of colorful historical Texas villains, as well as the prison system itself and its evolution since establishment in 1848. After our self-paced tour, we will move over to Lake Conroe for a scenic lunch at renowned Papa’s On The Lake and some tasty food and beverage. There is even a swimming pool for guests, should anyone be so inclined!
After lunch we are off to Threshold Vineyards in Navasota for a group tasting of 5 of their unique Texas wines, in an outdoor setting with a beautiful view of the vineyard. We will plan to head back to H-town after a fun and memory- filled day.
This is a bus trip from Houston (bus departs early morning and returns late afternoon), or optionally self-drive’
